Many salons are missing this marketing tool. It is a gem with marketing and with tools like MailChimp they are a very cheap marketing tool to start implementing. Salons that have good email campaigns see high client retention and more client rebooking.
- Make your emails consistent and frequent but not too frequent. Start with emailing once a month and adjust from there based on feedback.
- Emails shouldn’t be too salesy. Give your clients some value in your emails and not just discount coupons. Watch a few top trending TikTok or Instagram Reels videos on brows to see what people are finding interesting in the brow world and email about it.
- Make them enjoyable for your customers to read.
#2 – GET SET UP WITH GOOGLE MY BUSINESS
This one is easy and something some business owners are neglecting. Leverage the fact that everyone searches Google and get your businesses information on the platform. How many people in your city are missing your business because you can’t be found on Google? Google your city and brow salons. If you’re not number one in your category you are going to lose new clients to your competitors.
We’ve got an awesome write up on how easy it is to set up and rank on your Google My Business Account. Check out our write up here.
To boil it down:
- Use your keywords! If you are a threading salon make sure your have “brow threading” in your profile
- Upload pictures of your salon!
- Keep it up to date. Once a month log in and post some updates, are there any amazing brows you want to show off to prospective customers from the last month?
- Reply to feedback both negative and positive.
#3 GROW YOUR PERSONAL BRAND AS A BEAUTY PROFESSIONAL
This is an amazing and powerful way to attract new clients and grow your brand. What it means is focus on marketing yourself as a personality rather than marketing your business. It helps promote you as an expert in the industry and someone who can be trusted.
It makes it easier to attract new clients to your salon because instead of deciding to visit your salon because of pricing or convenience they want to you! Become the face of your company and watch as your brand grows.
Kate Morris of Adore Beauty built a small empire on being the face of her company, she grew her beauty empire simply by becoming the face of the company and doing weekly videos as herself discussing beauty trends and how to use her products.
Create education content that demonstrates your knowledge so that people look to you as the local eyebrow expert.

It’s time to face the uncomfortable truth that you are losing our product sales by not having an online store. Think about it, last time a client was in your salon you sold them on one of your products but what happens if they run out and aren’t due for an appointment or moved away? Well bad news if you’ve just lost out on an easy sale.
Building an online store is now easy and within grasp of the average person, select a provider, choose and template and upload your products. There are free solutions (from square) and options for under $30 a month from WIX, Squarespace and Shopify.
Having an online store not only lets you capture more sales from clients that want to buy from you but it is a great future growth direction for your business.

The best way to get new clients is to have existing ones raving about you and recommending you to their friends. Having a referral program means all your happy existing clients can become a small army of people marketing your business. Salons that start referral programs often see a noticeable growth in new client bookings.
- It’s important for both your existing client giving the referral and your potential new client have extra motivation to talk about your book an initial appointment. We recommend giving a discount to your old client and new client for successful referrals.
- When figuring out how much of discount you want to give don’t just consider the single session but what is the life time value to you of a new customer? What we mean by that if for every first time customer in your salon how much are you going to make from them for every appointment you expect them to make? If you are going to see your new customer once a month for the next 5 years giving them and their friend a free retail brow product to sign up suddenly seems like a bargain!
#6 SHOW YOUR RETAIL PRICES
A number of our clients have been hiding the prices on their retail products for years. This makes closing the sale so much harder than it needs to be! Imagine going to a restaurant where everything on the wine list is ‘market price’, you’d be sticking with the free water!
Give your customer the information they need in order to make a decision instead of hiding it away. You’ll be surprised how making your pricing clear can really boost your sales!

We all want what we can’t have and that includes your clients. Many online booking apps include a feature to make your schedule look more filled out than it actually is and that’s because this method works. Make your booking schedule look fuller than it actually is to trigger ‘scarcity marketing’. Consider limiting drop in hours, or when someone asks you to book an appointment telling them you don’t have a lot of free slots that day (even if you actually do).
- This technique is amazing for convincing clients to book ahead! You’ll get clients having you down in their calendar instead of just dropping by if it’s convenient for them.
- You’ll reduce your no shows too! People aren’t going to miss their appointment with their favorite brow stylist if they think they aren’t going to get another.
