Glycerin
The sweetest ingredient in many foods. It is used as a humectant in makeup removers. Humectants help hydrate the skin. They help the cleansing agents remove makeup while also ensuring the skin doesn’t get dry.

Leuconostoc/ Radish Root Ferment Filtrate ( A preservative alternative we are proud of )
Used as an alternative to parabens, we are proud of this product. During the SARS epidemic, researchers in Korea found that chickens fed “kimchi” recovered more quickly than those fed the standard feed. Kimchi is a traditional Korean dish prepared from fermented vegetables. The addition of Kimchi to the radish root and fermentation process produces this product. It has been proven to provide superior protection and has received FDA approval for cosmetic use.

Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract
Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) is often used as the herb chamomile. It’s anti-inflammatory and soothing properties make it ideal for skin care. It has great skin conditioning effects and is a skin cell regenerator. It also removes redness and itches.

Aloe Barbadenais Leaf JuiceAloe vera can soothe and moisturize the skin. It is also an anti-inflammatory agent. It is widely used in skin care products.

Allantoin
In the 1950’s, a surgeon published an article about the healing properties of Allantoin. He discovered that burns treated with Allantoin slowed the sloughing of the surface skin and reduced scarring. Since then, Allantoin has been added to cosmetics for its remarkable ability to soften and smooth the skin as well as make it more supple.
Soap and eye makeup removers are taken for granted. We know they work, but we also have no idea why. Water alone can leave makeup streaky. We tend to base our purchasing decisions on price and brand rather than ingredients, and who could blame us? Looking at the ingredient list for the first time can be like trying to grasp a foreign language.

Here’s how it goes:
In its cycle, water sometimes picks up metal ions such as calcium and iron, which can harden the water. Hard water is not as hygienic as soft water. Surfactants are formulated to pull dirt and oil from the skin so it can be rinsed away by water. Shampoo, makeup wipes and soaps function as surfactants.
Disodium Lauroamphodiacetate ─ (mild cleansing agent also used in baby shampoos)
Sodium Trideceth Sulfate ─ (mild cleansing agent also used in baby shampoos)
Citric Acid ─ Citric acid is an organic acid as well as an excellent chelating agent just like Trisodium EDTA.
Trisodium EDTA – A chelating agent in hard water that neutralizes metal ions and makes surfactants work. The result is soft water, with skin that’s squeaky clean.
Ethylhexylglycerin ─ A glycerine ingredient used as a topical moisturizer and skin conditioner. It doubles as a natural deodorizer and natural preservative.
Hexylene Glycol ─ This is added to adjust the texture of the substance. It thins it out, making it less viscous and less drying.
